The high-quality optical sensor also has a lifespan of 10 years so you are assured for the next 10 years you will be immediately alarmed if there is smoke or fire in the house. If the battery is almost empty, you will receive a warning. Extensively tested The Alecto SA50 smoke alarm has been extensively tested and meets the strict requirements of EN14604:2005/AC:2008. This is the international test standard for smoke detectors. Of course, it is wise to test your smoke detector yourself once in a while. For this purpose, it is equipped with a test and reset button. Ppm stands for parts per million, or number of parts per one million particles. It is required by law that CO alarms sound the alarm at a detected concentration of carbon monoxide over 50 ppm for 60 minutes. Even when you sleep, an alarm of >85dB will not go unnoticed. A long-term presence of a low CO concentration is also harmful to your health. The Alecto COA2650 carbon monoxide alarm already gives a warning when a concentration of 30 ppm or less is detected for 60 minutes. Additional insight on the display The COA2650’s display provides additional insight. For example, the carbon monoxide concentration is displayed on the display at - usually - 000 ppm. Furthermore, the display provides insight into the battery status and shows notifications when the CO concentration is too high, when it’s in test mode and if there are any error messages.
