Vipow 6V/4Ah Gel Battery Gel batteries have become an alternative to classic lead-acid batteries. Unlike the latter, gel models are maintenance-free, requiring no electrolyte replenishment. Their sealed casing and gel electrolyte prevent leaks, allowing for any-position storage and increased shock resistance. Gel Battery Durability One of the biggest advantages of gel batteries is their lifespan. Properly used, they can last up to several dozen years, offering superior resistance to varying and extreme weather conditions. Automatic Discharge (25°C) Gel batteries can be stored for months without charging. Capacity decreases to: 91% after 3 months, 82% after 6 months, 64% after 9 months. Choosing a Gel Battery Proper dimensions are not everything. Consider capacity – it shouldn't exceed 110% or fall below 90% of the recommended capacity for your device. The output voltage must also be very close to the recommended value (+/- 0.2V). Gel Battery Applications Gel batteries are used in motorcycles, golf carts, lawnmowers, emergency power supplies, photovoltaic installations, alarm systems, electric toys, and in vehicles with many electrical devices (e.g., campers) to power electronics, not for starting. Choosing a Charger for a Gel Battery For optimal performance and to prevent damage, the charger must have appropriately selected current and voltage. These values vary during different charging stages, so an automatic charger is recommended. It will adjust current and voltage, and switch off when fully charged. NOTE! The charger is not included.
